The TUI Group, the companies within the Group as well as the employees, are committed to working with the environment and nature in a responsible way. A commitment to a sustainable environmental by all employees and partners, as well as prudent action as far as nature is concerned, benefits the protection of natural resources and safeguards the viability of the Group.
Environment, nature and corporate ecological responsibility are consequently of extreme importance for the Group. The TUI Group has an excellent reputation at home and abroad in the sustainable management and use of nature and the environment. One of our perennial responsibilities and biggest challenges is to uphold the credibility of TUI’s environmental commitment as a “corporate value“.
At the centre of all our activities in holiday regions is the promotion and conservation of nature in close cooperation with local authorities and communities. The majority of the hotels in our subsidiaries are active members in local nature or conservation groups carrying out diverse social activities in their localities. Only by taking the initiative and being committed is it possible to preserve the unique nature and landscape of our holiday destinations and to safeguard tourism in the long term.
The hotel brands of TUI Hotels & Resorts are among the leaders in their respective locations. Comprehensive advice and support from TUI AG Corporate Environmental Management as well as the environmental officers in the hotel companies make sure that active environmental quality management is performed and provide an essential contribution to the quality, attractiveness and sustainability of an intact environment in our holiday regions.
The EcoResort seal of quality
The Group’s internal “EcoResort“ seal of quality was created jointly by TUI Hotels & Resorts and TUI AG Environmental Management.
It honours those hotels and clubs in the TUI Hotels & Resorts portfolio that fulfil the basic criteria which have been established.
The environmental management systems of the EcoResorts are audited by independent, accredited specialists and certified in accordance with a recognised national or international environmental standard, such as ISO 14001.

EcoResorts offer guests the opportunity to experience nature close up – either in the hotel’s own inviting gardens or in the outstanding natural beauty of the nearby countryside.

Holidaying in EcoResorts means relaxation and feeling good. Special emphasis is placed on activities that reduce stress, promote health and ecological quality. For instance, local and regional products from ecological farming are the preferred choice.
Commitment to sustainable development
EcoResorts cooperate with nature conservation organisations, are involved in cultural and social projects and sensitise staff in the holiday country to environmental issues.

The environmental protection in EcoResorts is at a high level and guarantees careful use of resources without compromising comfort. It includes, for example, waste and waste water management, water and energy saving measures as well as often the use of renewable energy.
