Cruises on the high seas are becoming more and more popular. For a number of years this segment has been returning two-figure growth rates in German-speaking countries. TUI is nowadays a leading provider and intends to grow further with its companies TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Kreuzfahrten.
Feel good at sea
In 2008 TUI Cruises entered the volume market for premium cruises with its innovative feel-good concept. Then, since 2009, the joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has been offering holidays at sea for the German-speaking market on the "Mein Schiff 1". The venture brought success and in May 2011 TUI Cruises was able to expand its fleet by commissioning its second ship – the "Mein Schiff 2". Furthermore the shipping company sealed a contract with Finnish shipyard STX for delivery of a new ship in 2014.
The ships of the fleet are focussed from bow to stern on feel-good aspects and relaxation. The concept is aimed above all at couples and families who value room to move, generous surroundings, high quality and individual service. The elaborately converted sister ships offer modern facilities with numerous restaurants, a 1,700 square metre spa area on either ship, spacious balconies and relaxation isles on the deck.
