Why did TUI AG had to leave the DAX30 Index?

Two key criterias are decisive for the DAX30 membership: the order book turnover and the freefloat market capitalisation. The freefloat market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the share price and the freefloat. The main reason for the descent is the significant reduction of the freefloat. Two major shareholders investeted in TUI, each holding about 15% of the outstanding shares. Before the investment of the major shareholders, the freefloat was at around 80%, by now it declined to almost 55%. Hence the freefloat market capitalisation reduced significantly and TUI can no longer comply with the requirements for the DAX membership.
