At today’s Supervisory Board meeting, Dr Jürgen Krumnow resigned from his mandate as member of the Supervisory Board of TUI AG, as already announced. Upon the suggestion of the Nomination Committee, the Supervisory Board unanimously suggested Professor Dr Klaus Mangold (66) as new member of the Supervisory Board of TUI AG. The Supervisory Board thus also opposed the motion of John Fredriksen to appoint Tor Olav Trøim in replacement for the member who had resigned. Pursuant to section 104 of the German Stock Corporation Act, the Executive Board subsequently applied to the district court of Hanover to appoint Professor Dr Klaus Mangold until the next Annual General Meeting of TUI AG on 17 February 2010 in replacement for the member who had resigned. It is planned for a regular confirmation of the mandate of Professor Dr Klaus Mangold to be provided by the Annual General Meeting for the remainder of the term of the Supervisory Board, expiring in 2011.

Professor Dr Klaus Mangold has been chairman of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations of the Federation of German Industries since 2000, is a former member of the Executive Board of Daimler Chrysler AG and Member of various Supervisory and Advisory Boards as well as head of the Supervisory Board of Rothschild GmbH, Frankfurt.

This press release, a photo and a CV of Professor Dr Klaus Mangold are also available at www.tui-group.com.
