Training leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA) majoring in Tourism Our world never stands still – the World of TUI is a place to make new experiences
The dual work and study arrangement leading to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree connects the practical work at TUI AG with an academic education at the Leibniz-Akademie in Hanover. The degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA) is an initial vocational qualification and comparable to the degree of the same name which can be gained at a university or polytechnic.
The advantages of this dual study arrangement with TUI AG lie in the combination of theoretical business management know-how and its practical application in business plus a varied programme characterised by a continuous alternation between studying and practical work. Besides the training salary TUI AG pays for tuition fees.
Look forward to an exciting time in which you will learn intensively. During your training you will be assigned to different departments of TUI AG as well as to different companies within the TUI Group. You will work independently on specific topics in various commercial departments and step by step will actively become involved in the project work being carried out. As a trainee you will have the opportunity of getting to know exciting fields of work such as marketing, human resources and staff development, and controlling. There you will gain appropriate practical know-how and find out about matters in greater depth. Seminars and vocational courses on various subjects will ideally prepare you for the later start of your career.
Company training will take place mainly in Hanover, but assignments in subsidiaries at other locations are possible at any time. In addition a placement in a TUI holiday destination in Germany or abroad is part of the training.
The theoretical part of the training takes place at the Leibniz Akademie in Hanover. There you will broaden and deepen what you have learned in practice. The six theoretical blocks each last 10 weeks. During this time the following topics amongst others will be handled in seminars and lectures:
- Business management: marketing, accounting, management
- Political economics: micro-economics, macro-economics, economic policy
- Law: German Civil Code, constitutional law, labour and social law
- Special business management with tourism content
The requirement for starting this three-year training with TUI is A-levels with a good grade, in particular in mathematics, English, German and another foreign language. Moreover you should be good with figures and have strong powers of reasoning. A sound knowledge of computing would also be advantageous. If you are open, motivated and flexible, enjoy learning and feel at home in a lively and communicative environment then nothing stands in the way of your application.
