“Children of the North run for children of the South“ is the motto that will be in the minds of all the children running the Kids’ Run within the framework of the TUI Marathon Palma de Majorca. With their own individual start number the young runners will set out on the course from Paseo Antonio Maura on 17 October 2009 at 5pm. Michael Lambertz, head of TUI Group Marketing and responsible for the TUI Marathon Palma de Majorca: “Following the success of last year we have extended the cooperation with UNICEF and handed over the title sponsoring for the Kids Run to the Children’s Fund. We are proud of the keen participation of children from all over the world who will be running for children in need.“
Depending on the age group the children will run a distance of either 600 or 1,200 metres. In doing so the sportsyoungsters will be supporting the UNICEF project “Water for Niger – every drop counts“, which aims at increasing the chances of survival of the children in the region. Once again this year TUI will donate five euros for every child that participates. On the day of the marathon, the 18 October 2009, TUI Schöne Ferien Clubs will be offering child care for the first time.
