TUI AG will again be listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index as of 21 September 2009. Europe’s leading tourism group thus continually manifests its strong sustainability performance. In the annual review of the composition of the index, TUI AG scored best in various categories including climate strategy, stakeholder engagement and brand management. Positive scores were also obtained in social reporting and environmental management. ‘As Europe’s leading tourism company, our goal is to continually develop our sustainability strategy and continue to be a key player in determining the standards in our industry’, says Dr Peter Engelen, member of TUI’s Executive Board.

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index comprises the 317 of the 2,500 members of the Dow Jones Global Index leading the field in terms of corporate sustainability. Alongside economic criteria, the assessment takes account in particular of selected environmental and social criteria. Combining its economic corporate targets with commitment for its employees, the environment and the company, TUI helps to improve the quality of life, safeguard natural resources and minimise business risks, both at its corporate sites and in the holiday destinations.

In addition, TUI AG is listed in the sustainability indices FTSE4Good (London stock exchange), DAXglobal Sarasin Sustainability Germany (Deutsche Börse), ASPI Eurozone, Ethibel Pioneer Index and ECPI Ethical Index €uro.
