Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, TUI is launching a five-year aid project, aiming to contribute to reconstruction. The company will provide half a million euros in total. The relief programme will be launched in cooperation with the sustainability initiative Futouris e.V. and involve TUI AG, TUI Deutschland, TUI Suisse and TUI Austria. Futouris was established in early 2009 on the initiative of TUI. Its focus is on socio-cultural responsibility, environmental and climate protection and biodiversity preservation.

Info: TUI Group companies worldwide have also launched individual projects or fundraising campaigns. TUI Suisse, for instance, will donate the profit from new bookings in the 2009/10 winter season for departures to the Dominican Republic to the Glückskette relief organisation. The Group-owned airlines TUIfly Nordic and Jetairfly are flying aid workers, medical personnel and goods to the Caribbean for free. Employees of TUI Deutschland have launched a fundraising campaign. The funds will be donated to action medeor e.V., a German medical relief organisation. In the Dominican Republic, local TUI tour reps are collecting donations in kind for the earthquake victims. Holidaymakers are contributing substantially to this project.
