Honoured: TUI Chief Executive Michael Frenzel wins German-Turkish Friendship Award

TUI Chief Executive Dr Michael Frenzel has been awarded the German-Turkish Friendship Award in the Business category in the Topkapı-Palast in Istanbul. The prize is awarded by the German-Turkish Friendship Federation to persons for their services in strengthening the relationship between the two countries. Previous winners of the award include Süleyman Demirel, Johannes Rau and Rita Süßmuth.

The Turkish Minister for Culture and Tourism, Ertugrul Günay, emphasised the importance of TUI for tourism in Turkey as well as the partnership over several decades “in good as well as bad times“. TUI  deserves credit for promoting dialogue and friendly relations between the two countries and is an important link between German and Turkish society. Frenzel stressed that a friendship among equal partners has grown from the business relationship lasting over 30 years and TUI still sees great potential for tourism in Turkey. The award is an honour that he accepts on behalf of all TUI employees.
