Environmental commitment of TUI AG affiliated companies Information in the internet

TUI affiliated companies accept their social responsibility for sustainable development and nature and environmental protection. Their endeavours to carry out their business in an environmentally-compatible way range from dialogue with various interest groups, involvement in a range of associations and initiatives, and naturally also specific environmental protection measures worldwide. In pursuing these aims, the environmental coordinators and environmental officers in each company act independently within their source markets guided by the economic, social and (environmental-)policy frameworks. TUI AG Environmental Management supports this work with the provision of advice and coordinating activities.

Tour operators:

Active environmental protection and sustainable development are an indispensable part of holiday and product quality for the leading TUI AG tour operator brands. This starts with brochure production and the advice provided to travel agencies, and continues through to the complete organisation of holiday packages.

Incoming agencies

Our incoming agencies actively support the business of Group tour operators in the most important destination countries. Their direct contact with the customers plays an important role in quality assurance.

The most important activities of incoming agencies are organising excursions, round trips and transfers and providing support for the buying of TUI hotel capacities.
The agencies incorporate sustainable development aspects in their many business processes. Cooperation with local non-governmental organisations is commonplace to jointly promote sustainable tourism development in the interests of holidaymakers and local inhabitants.

Boeing 737-800 with Winglets, Hapagfly

The TUI AG airlines are increasingly using state-of-the-art aircraft to continuously reduce fuel consumption, emissions and noise pollution. Technical innovations such as winglets and the continuous optimisation of technical and operating processes – such as reducing the amount of engine idling time – also make an important contribution to environmental protection.
TUI Airline Management is the central organisation responsible for Group-wide implementation and compliance with in-house developed environmental standards.

Increasing globalisation goes hand-in-hand with a rise in the volume of goods transported around the world. Logistics companies can have a major influence on the extent of the associated environmental impact through their choice of transport, appropriate routes and transport organisation processes. All TUI AG companies are guided by the principle of minimising the impact of their business activities on people and the environment.
