Commitment by TUI Airlines
Mobility in general, and air traffic in particular, are the subject of heated public debate because of the many associated environmental and climatic problems. As the leading tourism company, TUI relies on air transport because most people consider going on holiday by air to be an indispensable consumer product.
Commitment by TUI Airlines
By purchasing the most modern aircraft, taking action to increase efficiency and investing in technical innovations (winglets), TUI Airlines are systematically reducing the effects on the environment.
With the introduction of Boeing Dreamliner B787s, aircraft fuel consumption is to be reduced by one quarter in the corresponding long-haul segment. TUI airlines are among the first in Europe to integrate this aircraft into their fleets.
TUI airlines increasingly use state-of-the-art aircraft to reduce kerosene consumption, emissions, and aircraft noise. The further development of the environmental standards regulating the TUI affiliated airline companies – Thomsonfly, TUIfly Nordic, Corsairfly, TUIfly – is coordinated by the Quality Management of TUI Airline Management and supported by TUI AG Environmental Management. The success of these endeavours highlights that environmental challenges and compliance with high environmental standards are compatible with the achievement of economic targets.
