TUI Environmental Network (TEN!)
Because effective environmental protection is only possible when everyone is pulling in the same direction, TUI AG has established its own global TUI Environmental Network (TEN!). The aim of integrating staff, international affiliates, contractual partners and external partners within the TUI Environmental Network is to promote networking, dialogue and cooperation:
TUI AG Environmental Management is the coordination platform for environmental protection activities within the Group and therefore involved in a significant way in TUI's sustainable development. We advise and support the strategically-oriented central functions within the TUI AG Holding and the environmental coordinators within the affiliated companies on the operating side of the business.
In the core tourism business in particular, the network links up actively involved TUI staff at all levels of the tourism value chain. Environmental protection is expressly integrated in areas ranging from brochure production, travel agencies, programme planning, outward and return travel, holiday hotels, World of TUI travel management and in its own office procedures.
In addition, we have undertaken continuous monitoring of the environmental situation in tourism destinations for over ten years, and support TUI Deutschland GmbH in its environmental monitoring of contracted hotels. The results of this global environmental monitoring of hotels and destinations is passed on to tourism managers in local, regional and national seminars, workshops and conferences etc. The results are also passed on to regional and national governments in the form of recommendations. All of this activity is part of TUI's endeavours to find solutions jointly with all of its network partners to reduce environmental impact and simultaneously enhance the quality of its tourism products.
