TUI signs partnership contract with Moroccan government
July 28, 2003
Last Monday in Paris Dr Michael Frenzel, TUI AG chairman, and Adil Douiri, Moroccan Minister of Tourism, signed a partnership agreement outlining closer cooperation over the next few years.
TUI and the Moroccan government will undertake joint advertising campaigns and promotion activities with the objective of strengthening the popularity and attraction of Morocco as a holiday destination in the most important European markets. Furthermore, starting in winter 2003/04 TUI, through its French subsidiary Corsair, will launch scheduled flights from France to Marrakech and Fez as a way of significantly increasing the number of holidaymakers at these destinations.
The partnership agreement between the TUI group and the Moroccan government is an expression of the faith in the growth potential of the destination. Today about one percent of European customers of the TUI group travel to Morocco, where TUI currently has a presence through RIU Hotels, three Paladien and in the future one Robinson Club. Above-average growth is forecast for this holiday destination. Morocco is particularly important on the French market.
