Climate change is one of the biggest international challenges facing people and the natural world. Greenhouse gas emissions, driven in particular by industrialisation, accelerate global warming. This has a real impact on our environment, our society and our economy.
As a global player, we are aware that global climate is affected right along the value chain by what we do as a Group. At the same time, we are increasingly exposed to climate change and its effects (such as rising sea level, melting glaciers, and shifting dry and rainy seasons).
Since the early 1990s, TUI has engaged in projects and partnerships designed specifically to protect the climate, consulting with academics, politicians, the private sector and civil society. TUI’s climate strategy is based on preventing and reducing emissions (mitigation) and adjusting corporate activities as effectively as possible to climate change and its impact (adaptation).
Our key goal is to help preserve biodiversity and natural resources for present and future generations in a spirit of sustainability.
