The 17th Reisepavillion, an international trade fair for alternative holidays, opened on 2 February 2007 under the auspices of Prof. Klaus Töpfer. The Reisepavillion exhibitors showcased their products in the environmentally and socially responsible holiday segment at the trade fair from 2 to 4 February. Numerous events in the accompanying programme also dealt with the many different facets of sustainable tourism.
 

TUI Group Corporate Environmental Management shared a stand with CMS (Convention on Migratory Species - "Bonn Convention") and the EUROPARC Federation (European nature conservation organisation). The stand decoration was completely focused on the “Year of the Dolphin”. Visitors to the stand had access to a great deal of information on the initiative to protect this endangered marine mammal.

A paper was also presented on this topic as part of the accompanying programme. Mike Brauner (TUI AG) and Veronika Lenarz (UNEP/CMS) presented the activities undertaken and planned by the participating partners in their paper entitled “Partnership agreement between TUI and the United Nations Environment Programme in the Year of the Dolphin”.
