On the occasion of the TUI AG Annual General Meeting on 07 May 2008 the TUI department Group Environmental Management/Sustainable Development publishes the annual internet-based Sustainability Reporting. The last year's detailed report "Managing Sustainably at TUI 2006/2007" so is enhanced and presents the most recent activities and initiatives undertaken regarding Sustainable Development.

Key Performance Indicators

The relevant environmental impact of the tourism and shipping divisions was determined as a part of an environmental aspect analysis based on ISO 14001 and taking account of international reporting guidelines (includ­ing the G3 Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative). Corresponding indicators were selected.

The environmental management systems of the individual Group companies are continually adjusted to the requirements of international environmental standards. The systematic improvements in environmental aspects regularly focus on hotel companies.
