Open dialogue and transparency are an integral part of our corporate values. As one of the founding members of econsense TUI AG has voluntarily undertaken a commitment to ecological, economical and sociopolitical sustainability. The "Forum for Sustainable Development" is an initiative of German industry in which leading nationally and internationally operating companies and organisations are represented. These bodies have integrated the principle of sustainable development into their corporate strategy and try to deal with the associated ecological, economical and sociopolitical questions.

By entering into dialogue the work and opportunities associated with sustainable development are discussed within the industry as well as together with representatives of politics and stakeholders from non-government organisations (NGO), science and the public. The aim is to work out political strategies for solutions for the challenges of sustainable development. The forum intends to provide food for thought, support sustainable development with concrete activities, and discuss strategies, demands on the industry and politics as well as possible specific solutions.

Sustainable development encompasses to the same extent ecological as well as economical and sociopolitical questions. For us this means a contribution to sustainable development based on economic success by offering ecological and socially compatible products and services as well as to consistently use and develop business approaches in our company that are fit for the future.

As member of econsense we believe in the following action guidelines:

  • We undertake to treat all resources in a manner fitting to the principle of sustainability and to orient ourselves in our actions based on recognised national and international guidelines and agreements.
  • We are prepared to invest our know-how in the interests of sustainable business operations.
  • We want to pro-actively shape at an early stage the political decision-making process as regards sustainable development by working out concrete and innovative solution strategies.
  • Transparency and open dialogue are part of our understanding of sustainable development. For this reason we are nationally and internationally present as qualified and dedicated contact partners for politics, science, interest groups and industry.
  • We support the initiative and innovative power of business for sustainable development. We want to expand our know-how within the area of sustainable development and as an active partner support and accompany other companies, private households and public offices in achieving more sustainability.

Within the spirit of these guidelines we want, as a member of econsense and by carrying out suitable concepts and methodical action, to help open up for the present as well as future generations fair opportunities for development and an existence worth living in a safe future.
