Joining the Group Corporate & External Affairs team as Head of Public Policy Destinations, the role will be responsible for aligning and prioritising across our worldwide destinations TUI Groups policy for working with governments and policymakers, particularly those of strategic importance. The role will strengthen the political presence of TUI in destinations and will be acting as main point of contact with government and overseas embassies.   Applying a holistic approach to working with government officials and policy makers in the destinations, the role will support the TUI Hotel & Cruise businesses as well as airlines, tour operators and the hotel purchasing teams and act in an advisory capacity for senior management of TUI. For the TUI AG we are currently looking at filling a position for:   Head of Public Policy Destinations (m/w/d).

Was Sie erwartet

  • The purpose of the role is to align TUI Groups approach across the business, providing transparency and consistency to strengthen TUI Groups leading position and promote TUIs agenda for growth, when dealing with governments and especially tourism ministries.
  • Act as lead and central point of contact amongst our businesses to outline and promote destination policy, build strong working relationships with governments in key destinations, analyse and influence tourism policy making, identify potential partnership opportunities, support new destination scouting, set up and launch.
  • Prioritise objectives and align source market requirements, to always present a unified cooperation framework to destination ministries and government officials, with emphasis on the top 10 strategic destination accounts.
  • Support discussions with destination governments with regard to future growth and investment, on behalf of TUI Hotels & Resorts, Markets as well as our Cruise businesses.
  • Address issues that involve government tourism policy in the destinations that impacts our business, related to new building regulation, investment framework, security, visas, permits, tourism taxation and charges.
  • Lead arrangements and attend ministerial meetings at the TUI offices, VIP visits to destinations as well as key industry events, such as ITB, ITT and WTM. Prioritise meeting agenda and objectives.
  • Support the Sustainability Strategy and TUI Care Foundation initiatives, partnering with destinations in key projects to further strengthen TUIs leading position on sustainability within the industry.
  • Moreover, this role will act in advisory capacity for the future development of the Tourist Board & Partnerships team into a fully integrated Group function and where necessary advise on commercial discussions with the Tourism Ministries/Tourist Boards to improve results. To allow for this, the Tourist Board & Partnerships team will have a dotted reporting line into the Head of Public Policy Destinations role.
  • The role holder will work closely with the senior teams from Product, Purchasing, Cruise, TUI Hotel & Resort, TUI DX, Group Legal Group and other source market and group functions.

  • Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry or other regulated industry sectors
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to determine key priorities
  • Excellent English skills required. German, Spanish or French desired
  • The role will require a considerable amount of travel, sometimes at short notice
